I love to read the scriptures. I love how much inspiration and joy and peace I am blessed with when I take the time to focus my life on principles the Lord has set. I have such a testimony of the Eternal Plan, and I am passionate about providing an environment where my children can know of these things. Now that I finally have my little family, I have started to create teaching aids to tell the Stories of Jesus. In doing so, I have had a few comments on how great they are and a few "where did you get them" that I've decided to make them available for purchase.
They are great for a Family Home Evening Lesson, a Primary talk your child is going to give, a Primary lesson or sharing time. Any gathering of young children where a message can be shared, these are a great place to start.
Not sure what to do? Here are a few ideas. Once you purchase the ones you want, a download link will be available to you. Print off the files from your home printer. No color ink necessary! (I am always really stingy with my colored ink!) You can use regular paper, or a heavy card stock. Doesn't matter!
Then:
- Hot glue a piece of felt onto the back to make it a flannel board story.
- Use contact paper to "laminate" it. Contact paper is super cheap and you don't have to have a fancy machine to adhere it.
- Stick magnets onto the back for chalk boards. I purchase a set of "business card magnets" that I then cut into appropriate pieces and stick on tons of stuff. In WalMart's office supply section; very cost effective.
- Have the children color the pieces.
- Have the children tell the story.
- Hot glue or tape a craft stick to make small puppets for little hands.
Let us begin to teach our children the stories of the scriptures!
